Philosophy

As a coach, I understand that children participate in soccer to have fun. If children don’t have fun playing the game they will soon lose interest – This is the first stage of development as a coach.

I play to win. I believe that playing hard and training hard is the key to success. This is a life lesson both on the field and off it. Soccer is not about just about winning and getting trophies but about developing everyday.

As a coach it is just as important to develop their individual skills just as much as winning tournaments. Development requires that children play age appropriate activities so they are able to experience, comprehend and execute the game as it relates to where they are at and their own stage of physical and mental development.

It’s about learning the techniques of the game through a variety of fun games where players have as much contact with a ball as possible and learn at their own rates.

You have to put all effort and dedication into something you are passionate about and love to do. This is how you will succeed and develop.

This is how you become a champion.

Liverpool FC just received their christmas present early. Suarez put pen to paper and signed a long term contract committing his questionable future to the club. This is a very happy day for all Liverpool fans worldwide

“No body wants to grow up to be a Gary Neville”

To all my readers over here in the US who might not be familiar with Monday night football panel on Sky Sports between ex Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher and Ex Manchester United defender Gary Neville – Let me fill you in.

Liverpool meets Manchester – that is like Yankee and the Sox. It’s a huge rivalry and these two hated each other on the pitch. Now that they are both retired from the game, Sky sports decided to have them on as commentators, pundits and on the panel.

They seem to be good friends now – however, now and again – the banter comes out as you can see in the video below.

Jamie has a great point, but his point was also a little dig at his counter part. (please note, you may have to watch more than once due to trouble hearing Carragher’s accent) – Hilarious

Titans Take down Mustangs..

Olympia Shield andBolt

Lady Titans had their first District game against the Mustangs of Wekiva on A spooky Halloween night.

Very happy with the first win – a very good start to a promising season winning in style 6-0.

Dominated in procession throughout the game and could definitely be up 5 goals at the least in the first half.  A little talking too at half time the Titans came out firing in the second half – really putting the back burners on and scoring another 4 goals.

Pleasing start… Very happy night for coaching staff, players and parents. – Next District game @ home against defending district champs Apopka.

Lady Titans Journey begins!

Olympia Shield andBolt

Next week, my Lady Titans team start a fantastic journey. We start our pre season tournament against Masters Academy and Oviedo… Its time for the Titans to rule the Universe once again

In Greek mythology, the Titans were greater even than the gods. They ruled their universe with absolute power. The soccer field is our universe. Let’s rule it like titans!!!!!!

Three Lions Qualify!

England_crest000

England have booked their plane tickets to Brazil next summer. Some say a world cup is not a world cup if England are not in it. I happen to agree. Do we have the squad to go all the way, we shall see… positives are a balance of experience and youth.

The strong contenders for the summer will no doubt be host nation Brazil, Germany, Spain and Argentina.

Anyone already booked their ticket yet?

Titans here we come!

I am very excited to announce that I am the new Head Girls varsity Coach of Olympia.
